Salem’s Movies in the Park is a free summer outdoor film series shown in
The Gerry Frank | Salem Rotary Amphitheater
(Salem Riverfront Park, 200 Water St NE, Salem, OR 97301).

  • Large 24-foot by 14-foot inflatable screen featuring pristine projection and sound quality
  • A festival type atmosphere for everyone, grandparents to toddlers
  • Raffles prizes, food vendors & special guests at each film

Movies start soon after dusk (note that start times are approximate and change based on the date). Some people show up as early as 2 hours before the film starts to enjoy the park and the pre-movie activities. Before each film, we show old cartoons, shorts, retro clips and trailers to entertain the audience until it is dark enough for the featured movie.

The City of Salem Public Works Department, Jeff Hart, Shutterbug, an anonymous donor, and Allied Video Productions teamed up to establish Salem Movies in the Park in 2008, purchase the screen, and coordinate all other aspects of the event. All movies are leased and authorized for screening through their motion picture distributors. The movies have continued for over a decade with generous sponsors and supporters, and through generous donations from the attendees.

Thank you for coming out and enjoying Salem’s Movies in the Park.
