A: You are welcome to bring either blankets or short lawn chairs and sit almost anywhere the amphitheater. Full sized lawn chairs should be set only in the back half of the amphitheater.
A: Yes. We wanted to make the movies accessible for all viewers, including people with hearing loss. We’ve have developed a unique system to separate the captions from the movie and put them on their own screen. So by sitting on the appropriate side of the theatre, someone can view both the movie screen, and the caption screen.
A: We have staff from the City of Salem present during the movie, but there is no formal security.
A: We start the movie as the sun begins to set. We have estimated our movie start times on our website as best we can. If you would like a specific time, please refer to weather.com for more specific sunset times.
A: There are several free lots surrounding the park. Free Parking is available near the carousel off of Front Street. Also, parking is available on the north end of Riverfront Park accessed at Union and Front Streets. After 6pm, free parking is available along State Street and nearby streets in the downtown area.
A: Yes. Various food trucks and vendors are at each movie. You can also get treats at the Carousel until about 9pm.
A: Yes. You are welcome to bring your own food so long as you clean up after yourself when the movie is over.
A: We utilize Allied Video Productions, a local production company.
A: No! All movies are leased and authorized for screening through official distributors like Criterion Pictures and Swank Motion Pictures. We pay up to $1100 for each movie just to have the rights to show them to a public audience.
